Category: Hospitality Architecture
Type: Eco Resort Architecture

Río Perdido is conceived as a hospitality project that immerses architecture within one of Costa Rica’s most unique natural environments. Designed by Studio Saxe, the project is located within a dramatic canyon landscape in Guanacaste, where thermal rivers, dense vegetation, and rugged topography define the experience. The architecture is elevated lightly above the ground, allowing the natural terrain to remain uninterrupted while creating a sense of floating within the forest. Circulation paths connect the different structures through bridges and trails, reinforcing a continuous relationship between built space and nature. The design emphasizes minimal impact, using materials and construction strategies that respond to climate and context. Through architectural photography, the intention was to capture this balance between architecture and landscape, highlighting how the project integrates seamlessly into its surroundings while creating a unique spatial and sensory experience.
