Project Details

Malpaís, Costa Rica
Category: Residential Architecture
Type: Tropical Architecture
Area: 400 m²

Casa Solomia is conceived as a contemporary tropical residence that responds to the natural context of Malpaís, Costa Rica. Designed by Estudio D3B, the project is defined by a strong architectural language where geometry and materiality shape the spatial experience. The composition balances solid and open elements, allowing light and ventilation to define the atmosphere of each space. Natural materials reinforce the connection between architecture and landscape, creating a dialogue between built form and environment. The spatial organization prioritizes fluid transitions between interior and exterior, enhancing the experience of living within a tropical setting. Through architectural photography, the intention was to capture the interplay between structure, light, and material, emphasizing how the architecture is experienced through depth, texture, and atmosphere.
