Category: Residential Architecture
Type: Tropical Architecture
Year: 2024
Client: Private
Casa Solai is conceived as a tropical residence that responds directly to its natural surroundings in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Designed by Studio Saxe, the project is organized through a series of pavilions that open toward the landscape, creating a seamless relationship between architecture and nature. The design emphasizes natural ventilation, passive strategies, and the use of local materials to enhance the connection with the environment. Spaces are arranged to maximize views while maintaining privacy, allowing the house to feel both open and intimate. The architectural language is defined by lightness, structure, and material expression, creating a balance between built form and natural context. Through architectural photography, the intention was to capture this dialogue between architecture, light, and vegetation, emphasizing how the project interacts with its surroundings and creates an immersive living experience.
