Peninsula Papagayo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Category: Residential Architecture
Type: Luxury Tropical Architecture
Area: 1920 m²

Casa Continuum is conceived as a contemporary tropical residence embedded within the hillside of Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica. Designed by Inverse Project, the architecture responds directly to the site’s topography, climate, and expansive views over the Pacific Ocean. Rather than imposing itself onto the landscape, the project emerges as a continuation of it, composed of stepped volumes that follow the natural slope and are unified by a continuous green roof. The design prioritizes passive environmental strategies, including cross-ventilation, solar control, and shaded outdoor spaces, allowing the architecture to operate in harmony with its surroundings. Spatially, the project unfolds through a sequence of interconnected levels, where interior and exterior boundaries dissolve, creating a continuous living experience between courtyard, terrace, and horizon. Materiality reinforces this approach, using natural and durable finishes that age gracefully within the tropical environment. Through architectural photography, the intention was to capture the relationship between architecture, light, and landscape, emphasizing how the project blends into its context while framing views and spatial experiences that evolve throughout the day
