Casa Brutale is conceived as a study of materiality and spatial purity, where architecture is defined through the interplay of stone, wood, and light. Designed by Cortes Architects, the project moves away from ornamentation to focus on a refined and sensory architectural experience. A central courtyard organizes the spatial composition, allowing natural light and vegetation to become integral elements of the design. Circulation flows as a sequence of transitions rather than enclosed paths, dissolving the boundaries between interior and exterior. The project’s most distinctive feature emerges in the exterior, where a fully transparent glass pool rises as a sculptural volume, introducing a sense of lightness against the solidity of travertine. Through architectural photography, the intention was to capture this dialogue between weight and transparency, highlighting how light interacts with materials and how space is experienced through movement and atmosphere.
