Category: Residential Architecture
Type: Contemporary Tropical Architecture

Abrams sits high above Playa Guiones in Nosara, surrounded by dense vegetation and an extraordinary view that extends for more than 210 degrees across the landscape. Designed by Salagnac Arquitectos, the house opens generously toward its surroundings while maintaining an intimate atmosphere inside. Wood plays an important role in that experience, bringing warmth to the interiors and changing character throughout the day as natural light moves through the spaces. The surrounding trees filter the sun before it reaches the house, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow across walls, floors, and timber surfaces. From the exterior, the architecture remains closely connected to the mountain and vegetation while framing distant views toward the Pacific. The photography focused on this contrast between openness and intimacy, using the changing natural light to reveal the relationship between the house, the forest, and its elevated position above Guiones.
